Remington 700 replace AICS stock with McMillan?

Hi Folks, I have a Remington 700P (short action in .308). Currently in an AICS stock with AICS mag. I bought an Accuracy International AW so would like to put the 700 into a McMillan stock to give me something different from the AW that looks more like a US M40/M24 sniper.

Would any modifications be required?

Is there a Canadian outlet or do I order directly from McMillan?

You will need AICS pattern bottom metal.

McMillan's are pretty good when it comes to being in spec, so you have better then even odds it will work drop in. Depends on what bottom metal you get. Any mods will be minor, just tweaking to get the magazine in the correct position for feeding.

I believe you can order directly now, or you can talk to Gary at Bighorn Sales, he has plenty of McMillan's and DBM.

Also you'll want to bed your action into the stock as unlike a chassis, a stock like a McMillan is designed for the action to be bedded.
