I am wondering if I can put my Remington SPS DM .30-06 into an AICS stock.

I have it for sale in the EE right now as I had planned to take it hunting this year. However, I won't be able to make it and I'm wondering if, instead of selling it, maybe you guys can help me with some ideas on how to turn it into a sweet precision/tactical rifle. If not the AICS stock, what else can I do to it to turn it into something that shoots well, looks cool, and will be durable/long lasting?

Well the obvious first step is a new barrel. at least a varmint contour. A sporter contour would just look stupid in a AICS

You will probably find that mags will not work well as AI does not make a 30-06 mag so you will need to modify mags for 300 win mag, which could be a PITA.
If the plan is to put together a precision rig, you may want to look at alternative calibers based on what mags are available for.

Rick, are the 700 DM actions slightly different than the standard BDL style hinged floor plate models? If there is a difference between them, it might not be able to work with an AICS stock at all, despite the mag.

The DM actions are the same as any other 700, the stocks have a goofy inlet on the bottom for the Remington mag release. The feed rails are still there, just not used as the mag provides feed rails.

We use many custom actions that do not have any feed rails at all, the mag then is what controlls the feeding.

As I interpret the OP he has a long action due to being 30-06 which AI does not make a mag for.
