Remington 700 SPS DM

Mine was an aught six..... Was a very nice carry.... Grouped quite well with factory stuff.... I found the stock to flex too much and the finish was hard to keep from rusting.... It needed constant care.....

I have had two, one in 7rm and one in 243. I too didn't like the blueing, I replaced the one stock with a Boyd's and it was a good shooter. In the end they were a waste of money cause I was always trying to improve them and sold them to upgrade for more quality. To be fair they got the job done but they are not much to be desired, I wanted somethings to pass down to my kids and they could be proud of and have more than sentimental value.

Well I bought the stainless steel/synthetic stock in .338 WM over 23 years ago. It is still my "go to" hunting rifle, and will continue to be for many more years.
Never had any problems, finish is still fine, and it has always been a shooter!
I guess what I'm saying is back then, the QC was obviously adequate. Not sure about today though...

i bought an spw with detachable mag a few years ago from ellwood epps. its not common but i see they have open sight detach mag sps crop up there from time to time. i have one too. the finish on the sps is not typical remington its grossest remington. my spw is very nice with a nice walnut stock.

My first hunting rifle purchase was a SPS DM in .30-06, blued/synthetic. Prefers Fed blue box 180gr, groups well for a hunting rifle. Finish could be better, wears through easily. Now it's my back up gun and I wouldn't hesitate to put it to use. Is it a potential heirloom, no. Decent value to get into the game, sure.
