What is the fit and finish like on the SPS Stainless Synthetic like? I'm thinking of getting one in 25-06. I don't mind having to do a little work to get it shooting it's best. I already have dies and brass so reloading must. The price is reasonable for them.

I personally don't like the stocks on those SPS. They seem flimsy and they really echo if you tap the stock. I heard some people use spray in foam insulation or bits of pink insulation to reduce the noise. I think the stainless action/barrels are ok. I don't like the rough coating on the non-stainless SPS. I was going to say blued, but I don't think they are. Buy it, bed it, clean up the lawyer trigger and shoot away. I don't think you can go wrong for the price. It is still a 700 action. IMO

I got one in 30-06 for a steal of a deal 3 years ago. It ain't pretty, the stock is noisy hollow plastic and the trigger was crap. Adjusted the trigger left everything else the same put good optics on it. It has seen all kinds of dirt bad weather grime and abuse. It is my truck rifle and it is accurate enough for what I need it to do. It shoots a couple of different hand loads pretty good. For the money it has been well worth it.
