OK, I did it. After a bunch of screwing around in the EE I called Omenica Source for Sports and Dropped $1820.00.

I got:
Rem 700 XCR Compact Tactical
shooters ridge 9"-13" pivot bipod
Tally one piece 30mm med rings

Now I need to find a scope

Yes it could have....people don't seem to understand the whole hotlink thing but a short read in the FAQ would help them quite easily.

Now you did it... that short barrel will make your muzzle velocity like 300 fps. You'll be lucky to make it to the 100y line - good luck competing with rimfires.

I'm also thinking of jumping into the fray..Use 30 cal and 223 for hunting. Now for F/TR whats the best in everyones opinion re cal for 223 or 308. I've used both re hunting firearms but nothing set or major target work.

Any help. I was looking at SAVAGE ...as I heard Remington quality droppped . Read this in another post.
