i will say this however; i believe that the rem. action is more versatile for future re-barrelling custom projects.
how so?
the barrel nut system on Savage rifles makes a barrel change/headspacing much easier and less expensive.
and the floating bolt head requires no action blueprinting, and can also be easily replaced to accomodate another caliber.
i own both remington 700s and Savages and i dont see a single way that the Remington action is 'more versatile' for rebarreling, other than the fact that more Remington take-offs show up in the EE.
