Personally I think it's a beautiful looking rifle. I wasn't a big fan of Remington since I bought my first rifle 4 years ago which was a 770(learn the hard way that "you get what you pay for" it was sold only after a few weeks of owning it.) So after seeing the new wood tech I want to give Remington another chance and pick up this 700. Has anyone got there hands on it that could throw in some insight. I'm thinking its just like any other 700. Is it internal mag or removable mag, they don't mention it on the website. Like I said though, I have no experience with the 700. Here's the beaut.

It looks like a hinged floorplate as there appears to be a release inside the trigger guard. SPS models lack the finish of the nicer CDL and BDL models but are strong and functional as well as accurate in my experience. Try both and see what you think.

I assume that it is some kind of photo finish on a plastic stock..........you'd think if they were going to do this, they could have picked some gorgeous piece of AAA exhibition to reproduce........
OP, there is nothing wrong with the SPS version of the 700 Rem, lower grade of finish and stocking material to reduce costs but the same strong and accurate barreled action and great trigger.

If you like wood, get wood. If you want synthetic get synthetic. Bastardized contraptions usually remain bastardized contraptions. You will have a hard time selling that thing in two weeks:)

If my stock looked like wood but flexed and bent like it was rotten I'd likely get a new piece of wood for it...........

regardless of whose name is engraved or stamped on the receiver, or spear for that matter..........

I came across this sometime last week. Though about it but decided it is not my cup of tea, I like the 700 but just something about the "fake" finish I don't like (same with the Browning X-Bolt Carbon).

Nothing wrong with a 700 SPS though, if you like this I say buy it and if you get tired of the stock there is no shortage of a variety of used real wood or fiberglass stocks on the EE.

The cheapest place I found the SPS Wood Tech is Wolvereine's on sale for $599
