Remington 700 ss 5R cal.308 MAX COL

Hi,i got Remington 700 5R cal.308,and i want to reloaded it,and i need some advice.In the Hornady book for a 308 bthp match the coal is 2.800.
i mesured the oal of the bullet engaging the rifling,and i got 2.886,if i need to clear of the land by 0.002 inches,what will be the best c.o.l,thank

Hi. Every rifle will prefer a different OAL. However, fiddling with the OAL is something done after you have worked up a load.
"...308 bthp match..." The 168 grain? Use the 2.800".

I'd stick with the book max of 2.800. Try adjusting the powder charge up or down by a tenth or two instead, to find the sweet spot.
