I have just got a rem 700 tactical and looking to replace the stock Was looking at the magpul hunter but i cant find any info if it will work with mags. I don't want to spend $$$$ on a stock just want something cooler then the Hogue stock. Any info would be great and links. Or any other suggestions. I'm starting to learn that cool costs big $$$$$

The magpul hunter stock works with your existing bottom metal. If you want the mag conversion, magpul sells those for the hunter stock also. The vendor you purchase the hunter stock from should be able to sell you the conversion also. It's a great budget stock to start. I've owned 3 and liked them in any of the configurations I've tried.
You may want to look at the bravo chassis that go big tactical (site sponsor) is bringing in. They look like they will be giving the magpul hunter some direct competition. They take mags out of box but are a bit more expensive.

I have a Remington 700 tactical in 223 with the magpul hunter stock. I don’t use the magazines (as I like it better without them) but I have used one setup with the magpul stock and their magazine well conversion.
The magpul mag well conversion works great except magpul doesn’t support magazines in 223. You will need some other AICS magazines. The one I used worked well with MDT polymer 223 magazines after some initial adjustment to magazine heights.
