remington 700 titanuim weight

Hi all

I was interest in the weight of a titanuim short action of the action and barrel or the stock by itself. Been thinking of a light weight project starting on one of these firearms.

Stocks normally run 24 ounces

When remington said 5.25 and 5.5 lbs for short and long actions they weren't joking, my Long action TI weighted 5.5 lbs, and maybe even an ounce or so lighter
 
they're light. a 700 Ti in 260 with talleys and a 3-9x40 VXII is a hair over 6 lbs

my Ti 30-06 with talleys and same scope was like 6lbs 4 oz

I still going to ask the weight of the stock since there is some stocks that propably weigh less than the factory. For example is the stock weighs 24 oz, i could drop this weight by 12 oz, and the scope and rings could weigh 12 0z leaving the gun weight at the same that is listed, 5 1/4 lbs. If I can't keep the weight down to 5 1/2 lbs. I will stay with my 338-06 imp at 7 lbs( gun,scope,rings) and use this rifle for everthing.

No mountains, just a lot of mole hills.
The stock I was thinking was about is the summut series by lone wolf stocks.

Ti stocks

I have two Ti stocks they both weigh 23 oz

....the boys in Dawson Creek can build you a 5.8 lbs rifle for $3500..lots of milling on the receiver and a 19 oz. Wildcat stock
