Remington 700 Trigger for Precision Rifle

Why the 2 stage flat? I was thinking flat for a single stage so that it is completely different from anything else I shoot (milsurps) and curved if I go with a 2 stage because all my 2 stage milsurp triggers are curved and it would be a familiar feel just lighter. My K11 and 1903 Springfield have quite good triggers for milsurps.

I’ve got a TT diamond and a Timney Calvin elite that I go between on two separate rifles. I actually prefer the timney. The trigger tech is an amazing trigger, but the timney for me wins. Plus the timney customer service is great as well, so no worries on that issue.

I like two-stage triggers for precision shooting, and I just happen to like the flat trigger for consistency. The Diamond is a bit too light though, so Special. It's all personal preference. I don't have problems switching between trigger types. Some folks like keeping their trigger feel different from hunting guns to precision rifles.
 
I made the leap and ordered a Trigger Tech Primary single stage flat trigger. My logic being that consensus seemed to be a single stage trigger would be an advantage on snaps and mover. The other factor being I feel if I don't like it and want to change to 2 stage the single stage would probably be easy to sell. I didn't see any reason to go higher end than the Primary when 1kg is the min allowed weight. No sense being able to adjust down to ounces when not allowed anyway.
 
Apparently you want one of the better R700-compatible third-party-clone rifles, and not an actual Remington 700.
 
I really enjoyed the Timney triggers on my 700s. They were a monster improvement over the stock triggers. I haven't tried the other options mentioned here though.
 
Any Trigger Tech trigger group w/ a bolt release which is formed/bent to a 90 degree angle has to be "laid/bent back"to fit the bolt stop to function properly.

One needs to concentrate on "Striker to Sear" Hand Off, since a Remington is #### on open & #### on close
(the above makes a consistent trigger..of which any Timney is NOT)

I had a couple TriggerTech curved single stage triggers and quickly lost interest in them. Since I use a pistol grip the angle of travel is more horizontal than a traditional; hunting stock, so the curve is awkward.

I also thought maybe the single stage would improve my reaction time, but it did not.

I have since changed to straight shoe 2 stage and will never consider going back to single stage or curved shoe for a competition gun.
