not sure if this is the right forum to post but i have a 243 winchester remington 700 synthetic stock 22 inch sporter barrel think its the sps model or adl . i cant get it to group pie sized groups at 100 yards horribe tried few differnent loads now i suspect there might be a flex in the stock might cause the issue but not sure any suggestions i free floated the barrel cleaned the barrel with wipeout and made sure the bases and scope rings tight .

Stock flex is sure to affect accuracy, but not to the extent of 8-10 minutes. The first thing I'd try is another scope known to be accurate on another rifle, then if the problem persists, consult a gunsmith as guntech suggests. Measurements of your fired brass might indicate if there are obvious chamber or lead issues, but your gunsmith would determine that easily enough. The fact of the matter is that the the SPS is a budget priced rifle, so you have to decide early on, how much you'll be willing to pay to fix it.

Every gun is different but my 700 SPS (270) shot sub MOA with federal blue box out of the box, didn't even free float the barrel. I was using Talley rings with a Bushnell XLT scope.

What scope and rings are you using?
