Anybody know the differences? I know the XHR is camo vs the OD of the XCR. Also, the XHR has the traingular barrel and stock.

The XHR appears to be about $50 less. Is just those "what ever feels better in your hands" situations?

The XCR II is all stainless, coated with a black trinyte coating. The XHR is CroMo steel, that is blasted and matte blued, like an SPS.

I would take the XCR. Smooth metal, and a round barrel trumps.

So What is the real deal with that triangular barrel anyhow? The Remington magazine claims that it shaves weight while it maintains strength. How true is this? The 700 is pretty light to begin with. I can't really see how much more weight this will save, and if it really maintains the full strength of a round barrel. Any thoughts?

I believe they use a heavier contour barrel, then slab it to reduce it to the weight of the sporter barrels. Gimmick if you ask me.
