I have a 30/06 Remington 700 and I was wondering if there is anyone out there that can machine the barrel for a muzzle break?

There are many good gunsmiths around who will be happy to install a brake on your rifle for you. But it will take some time, as most smiths have large amounts of work lined up at any given moment.

I do have to ask why you need one on a .30-06 though. They don't kick very hard and are rarely fitted with muzzle brakes. A Limbsaver or Decelerator recoil pad is cheaper, faster to fit and generally tames down much harder kicking rifles to a tolerable level, so you should find your '06 to be manageable with one. No obnoxious noise from a brake either.

I agree with Timber on this one. If recoil is a concern a quality recoil pad is the answer for a 30-06. A muzzle brake will lessen recoil but it will be a lot louder.
