I have an old 722 and I want to improve my trigger. Is it advisable to work on the existing factory trigger or would it be safer/better to just swap it out for an after market setup like a timney or other? Any opinions would be appreciated. Thanks. Art

My 722 has a trigger that is adjustable with a little screw. If yours is the same, it is simple to adjust. One warning, if you set it too light, and the safety is on, if the trigger gets touched by branches etc. the gun can discharge when the safety is pushed to OFF. When you get your trigger adjusted to where you want it, it is a good idea to mark the position, turn the screw and put a drop of loctite on it and return it to the right position.

....and I want to improve my trigger.

What are you trying to improve on?

Less weight? Looks? Just wanting to spend money? Does it work now?

Those old triggers can be adjusted to feel quite good if yours does not feel that way...

Problem fixed. I didn't realize I could adjust the trigger. Backed the screw off a hair and voila, I've got a lighter pull. The safety still seems to be functioning properly. Thanks. Art
