Remington 742 Deluxe Model…Fore-end problems.

The fore end is walnut but the front end is plastic. It has come loose. Can someone advise which glue would repair that plastic to wood connection? It appears that a previous owner has tried a glue with no luck. Ideas? Fore end has impressed checkering. The front tip is a black plastic piece. Thanks, Dave

Hey Dave! I'd use some JB Kwik Weld clear epoxy which you could get from any Crappy Tire or hardware store. Just rough up the two mating surfaces with +/-180 grit, wipe them clean with rubbing alcohol, and clamp them together with a bar clamp.

I agree with JB weld or another epoxy but i'd opt for the normal set up times vs the kwikweld or other fast curing options.You'll have a much stronger bond.
