Will a new 7400 magazine work for an older 742 .308 ? I'm having a hard time finding an original magazine for my 742. Thanks

a 7400 clip will fit as will a 7600 clip. the only difference , is the bolt will not remain open after your last shot with a 7600 clip.

You shouldn't have any problems with a 7400 mag.
