I recently bought a 760 that has the dreaded forend rattle. Knowing that it's an easy fix, I emailed WGP for the proper O-ring to correct. I found out that O-ring was $7 plus tx and shipping and they don't mail in an envelope as well as require a $25min order. So no deal there.

Having found out the proper size o-ring (thanks to google), I ventured down to the local hardware store and found two of these for under $3.

I used a punch to remove the forend slide guide bolt thingy. Easy job, works perfect. Lubed with lithium grease to smooth it up.

A punch will remove the forend tube if it isn't tight... if it's really tight a long handled tool half surrounding the tube and a pin the size of the holes is needed. Otherwise the holes can get quite distorted.

You're quite right. The punch worked fine as it was not tight.

Now that you have changed the O-ring, the torque and position on the barrel in relation to the reciever has changed. You wil jeed to sight it in again if you have a scope or receiver sight mounted on it.
