Remington 760 and 7600 Carbines ? Any limited editions ?

Haven't gotten into the 760/7600 game yet, but have been seriously considering it. I've been in the market for a bigger caliber than my 7mm08, been toying with the idea of getting a 30-06.

I understand you can get a LH safety for them? Other than the safety pump actions tend to be pretty ambidextrous.

What sort of accuracy do you guys get with these rifles?
Dont know about the rest but my dad's 1955 760 in 35 Remington consistently shot just a hair over moa with Remington 200 grain corlokts. Sometimes a hair under but averaged 1 1/4 inch groups.

760/.35 Carbines produced was around 486 made. One sold a few years ago at auction and would have rounded up to about $3700 delivered to someone’s door.

I have had several. They are accurate enough but it is true that it is basically built on a 20 gauge 870 receiver. I consider them more comparable to a lever action that can use pointed bullets than being comparable to a bolt action for practical purposes
It is the other way around the 20 gauge LW shotgun was built on the 760 rifle reciever. My 760 guns shoot into a inch with most loads as for levers aside from the Savage 99 have a hard time doing that.

Just as a point of interest there was a article in Rifle magazine years past on a 760 rifle in 35 Rem being converted to 35 Whelan. It was a easy task with a chamber reamer, 06 mag and tail of the firing pin being shortend . The twist was not optimal but it worked. That was in my moose hunting hay days it was going to replace my trusty 600 carbine in 350 mag with one but never could locate a Rem 35. Messed with a couple of 7600 Whelens but favoured my 30-06 carbines. I may still have that article kicking around.
