Remington 760 gamemaster

Hi everyone, I saw a Remington 760 30-06 Gamemaster at my local gun store today for 174.99 + tax. The blueing and action are in great condition, but the finish on the stock is pretty rough (ill just probably end up refinishing it). The pervious owner drilled and tapped the side of the receiver for a scope mount (although there is already holes on the top for a mount), but they have been filled with small screws. Everything else on the gun seems to be fine. It will come out to about $197, is that a good deal?

It might be a good deal, but remember, the proprietor of your local gun store is likely far more capable of stating its value than you or I are.

What does the inside of the barrel look like? If that is good probably a good deal with some sweat equity thrown in.

If it is good mechanically it is a great deal. Refinishing the wood is nothing.

I paid a lot more for one 30 years ago so go for it. If it was close it might even follow me home.

Holes in side might be for a receiver sight. Pics would help.
