Looks like Remington made some 7600 in 300 Savage.

Ironically only 300 of them...

Nice caliber -- I shot my deer last fall with 300 Savage -- killed it pretty
good!
 
They also made a 7600 Carbine in .35 whelen. Epps Had I think 5 of them. My cousin and I drove up to epps and bought one each. He is now selling his. He needs the $ to fund another gun. As new unfired. These as well do not show in the catalogue.

I'd like to see the 7600 in a 22/250 and 358Win.

They should ditch the crummy semi autos they sell and push the more reliable pump actions with an expanded line.

There were 1.03 million 760's made from 1952-1981.

About 4% were in 300 Savage = 41,200 760's in 300 Savage.
(I got that stat from an article on Remington pumps in a NRA magazine.)

Considering that ~70 % were made in 30-06, the 300 Savage ones are relatively rare.

In the last 2 years, I've only seen two for sale on this forum.
(I bought one of them.)

Correct. With a nice recoil pad, recoil is not a problem.

Chuck Hawks list the recoil pounds as 14.8 (for 150gr -- 7.5 lb rifle).
(He says that anything under 15 is comfortable to shoot)

The same bullet and rifle weight in 308 produces 15.8 lb recoil energy.
 
I got one in 25-06,one in 260,and a 7mm08 on the way.
My brother got a 257R and a 300.

Everyone always asks if it a 308 or 30-06 your shootin.They look baffled when you tell them.
I too would buy a 358 if offered.

Swedish, I just saw one sell on another site and theres a 760 in 300 Sav in the EE right now as well, they aren't that rare.
 
I put a good recoil pad on my 760 30-06 and now it is manageable. About as much recoil as I want in a rifle that weighs this much. I have thought about buyin one in .35 Whelan, but I think that might smart.

I own one too - a rare uncataloged bird. I swapped out the newer clip for the older steel one and got a spare one too. Took it moose hunting last fall but never got a chance to pull the trigger while hunting. I put a VariX-II 1x3 on top and it's a great combo. (Supercub would approve I think:) )
