Remington 770 feeding issues (yea, another one)

Just picked up a 770 in 300 win mag. Went out to the range, loaded up the magazine with a whole 3 rounds (tried all sorts of methods, straight, stacked, offset couldnt get more than 3 when they say it fits 4 cartridges). I attempt to send the bolt home, and not only is it extremely rough, but the tip of the bullet gets caught about 1/8" down the feed ramp. It only feeds from the magazine when there is a single cartridge.

Should I bother fixing it, or take it back immediately?

Usually the magazine capacity for magnums is 3. How does it feed with 3 in the magazine?

First cartridge cycles horribly. It's a pain to remove from the feeding lips of the mag, then the bullet tip gets caught 1/8" down from the feeding path, dead stop. Second, every now and then will cycle fine, but more of the time does the same as the first. Third cycles fine.

Probably going to take it back. Only problem I have is they give store credit, and there isn't much on my list besides milsurps that they don't have.

10 minutes on google would have told you not to buy that POS!

Or a quick search here.

By the way, when they say that it holds four rounds, they include the one in the chamber.

Now go exchange that piece of junk for a real rifle.

This is actually my first encursion into this forum, I'm not a big hunting rifle fan, just wanted something cheap that works to target shoot with.

Went into the store looking for 7.62x39 and walked out with a bolt action rifle - ah well, lesson learned.

CSA vz58 ;). If they had just had some ammo this could have all been avoided, haha. Burning pocket syndrome.
