Looking for advice on my 308 purchased here used.
My rifle has a failure to feed issue. I emailed Gravel but they cannot warranty the rifle .
I am not handy at all, so I have to pay someone to repair it. It’s just a cheap rifle but it shoots very well.
Not really keen on taking it hunting in this condition.
I think it has to do with the Mag from what I read online . The bolt gets blocked by a round that’s halfway up into the chamber .
Anyone have any other thoughts or experiences with these rifles ?

Thanks in advance

Gravel email: Hello,

It is most of the time related to magazines and can be corrected by tuning the lips but our gunsmith mentioned that there is also a known issue with some feed ramp that have holes and thus prevent proper feeding of some type of bullet profile.

I wish you a good day.

Take it to a smith. Without actual eyes on, it almost impossible to give you the cause.

There are several reasons that rifle may not be feeding properly, including the ammunition.

Your rifle may be cheap but the locking system helps to keep thing aligned with the axis of the bore, which tends to lead to good accuracy. Most of them do shoot well as long as they have ammo they like.

First thing I'd try would be another magazine. Or is the magazine marked for 308 or is it a 223 or 22-250 mag?

I had the same problem and it was cured by gently adjusting the mag lips. The lips do not allow the rear of the cartridge to raise high enough to get picked up by the bolt. Give it a try and contact me if you need help. Good luck you should enjoy the rifle once it is fixed.
