Remington 783 HB .223 ?

I have one. Great value. The trigger took a while to break in, but very light and consistent pull now. The stock is kinda ugly and may be replaced with a Boyd's. Shoots great under 1 moa with Hornady 2278 68gr Match bullets over 23.4 gr of Varget at 2.260" COAL. I like the short barrel. Wouldn't mind a 20 " though.

I have one. Shoots so good im keeping the factory barrel. I bought it to rebarrel to 20tac but it is too accurate to take the barrel off. Mine sits in a mdt lss chassis.
Its basically a better take on the savage design. Im not a fan of new rem products but ill likely buy another hb 783. I like the larger egg shape bolt knob on the hb versions

I have the .223 16.5 inch barrel. I like it. shoots less than an inch with sako 55gr soft points. Ive tried several factory loads in the 55-62 gr range and the sako's shoot best. going to try some 69 gr federal match next time i make it to the range.

I got one of the full sized 783's in 30'06 when they first came out, $299 all in for the camo stock version. It was pretty decent with the factory stock, but got a deal on a Boyd's, bedded it, and now it's really good. If I got another, I'd just bed the plastic stock, bedding is the weak link in most cheap production rifles. The cheapo stocks are usually molded/folded a bit off center in the bedding area. Did a few brutally cheap rifles like that since and really improved things.

Would be my setup if I wanted a good looking predator/varmint rig.

This is a factory rifle by the way. Definitely bedded, ensure barrel is well free floated, should work and shoot great.

The 223 factory mag is actually really good if you don't want to bother with AICS DBM
