I had a Remington 783 in 22-250 & loved it! However, I soon found the need for a more versatile caliber. So I tried to find a .270 in the EE section, & a funny thing happened...most sellers wanted almost new price for this thing.
There were plenty of LNIB & "save the taxes" claims, when I pointed out that the factory combo could be had, from 4 different retailers, at $429-$459.
Long-story-short...I had a NEW one shipped to my door, from a retailer, for under $500 including tax & shipping!
But that's not the reason for this post.
1. Canadian owners should register by phone, as the website only allows for US addresses.
*info added* I spoke to Remington to clarify that Canadian residents aren't required to register. I was told to register & was quickly registered over the phone. The person I spoke with had no idea why the website is set up that way or why Gravel Agency(CND Remington rep) told me not to register.
2. From 2016, Remington firearms carry a LIFETIME warranty to the ORIGINAL PURCHASER.
Conclusion (for me at least)...sometimes new is the way to go. In my case, I spent about $50 more than used & gained a new rifle with a LIFETIME factory warranty.
Just my 2 cents worth
