I bought one of these for my son some time ago. The stock is quite small and poorly shaped. There don't seem to be too many options for replacements stocks so I purchased a "Lucy" adaptor from Mesa Tactical that will allow me to mount any stock designed for 870 12g

Have been looking at Magpul's SGA and Mesa Tactical's Urbino. What other stock design/make do you suggest? Looking for good quality and recoil absorption.

Also would like to mount a rail on top of the receiver for a reflex type sight, but everything I find is made for the 12g.

Any ideas or suggestions?
 
Could go with a collapsible stock adapter from Mesa Tactical that comes with the sight rail. It'll be adjustable for your kid too if he's still growing.
 
The 870 youth (20ga) is the size between the one you have...and a standard LOP stock. Is one of those an option? (stock set) Clearly, and 20ga 870 stock set should work, but we have an 870 youth in the family. Laminated stock set with a gummy recoil pad..but any 20ga 870 stock set should fit. Is the main issue recoil?
 
Recoil and shape of the stock - small area and lack of drop means you have to kink your neck in an odd position to get a proper sight-line.
He is still growing- a small 13 year old. I wonder if the 760 stock works.
