Remington have announced a detachable magazine version of the 870. Happened upon the news while shopping for my first shotgun. A simple pump gun has always been on my list. And now this one will be available with a magazine.

Is anyone else interested in this? I'm not a fan of the wood stock with mag look, also not a fan of the shorter barrelled variants (18.5", etc.) but a 24-26" barrelled with a magpul stock would be my choice.

Wonder how long before it'll hit Canadian shelves.

Dominion Arms already had 870 clones mag fed. Grizzly mag feds.
Great guns, very reliable and they used to be under $275 back then! I had one with 18" barrel I believe, ghost sights and a side folding stock! It was one bad ass shotgun :rockOn:
Except they were integral to the receiver not some abortion tapped receiver after market add on.
What's the price tag? $1,200 Remington death throe dollars? :D

I've been reading the reviews and every American is excited for the "first" mag fed 870. lol

I'd be interested in the Remington more-so. I had bad luck with my mag fed Grizzlies. I like the idea of a forward facing mag release and enlarged action bar release.
 
Looks awkward to me. Like mag wheels on a VW rabbit. No advantage in capacity or handling. Totally useless as a hunting option. An adaptation which varies from original proven design. An attempt to make it look “tacticool” as the main gun market now is mall ninjas. I guess you go where the money is. My opinion.
 
This might be interesting for the people interested in tactical shotguns but I see no big advantage for hunting or sporting uses. Then again, Remington is facing bankruptcy, so they may not even be in business long enough to build many of these things

All their better built ideas led them to this point. Thankfully Laib’s carries parts and does servicing of 3200’s.
