Remington 870 LEO top folder

They were cool as hell when I was a teenager, then I shot one.

This ^^^^^.

These were standard issue when I started working as a LEO. I thought they looked cool - and then after spending a few hours on the range shooting Imperial SSG - my opinion was drastically changed.

I have a Choate top folder on my Mossberg 500A. I keep it around for those fly in jobs where a short OAL is needed. Folded it is a lot of gun and can be wrapped in a jacket and tossed in the chopper or fixed wing.

It's a move around a lot and shoot very little kind of rig. Just another tool in the box.

I think these stocks are good for guns that perhaps are needed on occasion and need to be stored in a compact fashion. I just wouldn't want to go trap shooting with the thing.

Lol. I beat a guy using a perrazi with mine. Skeet though. Not saying I'm a good shot but he sure as hell wasn't. I actually really like mine. The only exception is when I have the longer barrel on then it looks like crap. In that case it's form over function.

Its not that bad honstly. I do it with mine all the time. Slugs and buckshot have a little more kick but for informal claybusting in a gravel pit, it never gave me bruises. And I'm not a big guy (5'9 / 175lbs). Its how you shoulder the thing that gives you (or not) a hell of a time :p

Exactly what they were meant for. They were standard issue when I started and we used to qualify with Federal High Brass 4 buck mag. It wasn't overly pleasant to shoot but not too bad. I sure wouldn't want to run a week long course on one though lol! Now all the SG's are less lethal but have Gucci stocks on them, and carbines rule the lethal long gun game.
