Remington 870 Marine vs. Mossberg 500 JIC

Hey Guys,

Just down in the EE and I noticed a Mossberg JIC Marine for sale at a very good price. A fellow Hamiltonian just picked up a 870 Marine at Lebarons the other week, and it wasn't as cheap as the JIC. So, what is the differnce besides price? Both have the nickle finish...or am I worng on this and the Mossberg's finish isn't the same as the 870? Overall size, but just throw a fullsize stock on the JIC and Bob's your uncle.

For one, the Mossberg Mariner does not have a Nickel finish. It's some sort of proprietary duracoat type finish. In other words, painted on.

The Remington Marine Magnum is completely finished in Nickel inside and out. No comparison on this fact alone and well worth the extra 200 bones on the REM Marine.
 
The Marine Magnum is a very slick gun. I regret selling mine very much. Nothing in that gun will rust with the exception of the mag spring and even that took some effort. I don't think I ever cleaned mine until the day I sold it and not once did I ever have any issues. I wish it came choked personally.
