Any 870 made after 1986 except a wingmaster didnot have the chambers polished to the degree the old ones did
99% of the time if one hears of a jammed shell it is one of those with promo or cheaper shells in it
Some after 87 never have the issues others do but very common

I was shooting kent fast steel.. they had been wet before and a little bit of corrosion on the "brass"
 
After considerable issues during drills, I once set out to replace the factory extractor on an 870 with a Volquartsen Exact Edge version but had no success thanks to border restrictions. I had plenty to do at the time and decided life was too short to puzzle such things out.
