Remington 870 Police and Cerakote

I have an 870 Police and I'm toying with the thought of having it Cerakoted by Black Box Customs. They completed a blued Wingmaster and a Dlask Shorty and came out beautifully.

My question to you is can the Cerakote be applied directly to a porous parkerized finish for added strength and protection or would it need to be blasted?

Had anyone been through this process?
