I bought a Remington 870TB at the last Switzer's auction and it had a release trigger installed. The auction description didn't mention anything but I was suspicious when I noticed the missing safety. Pulling the trigger made a soft click and releasing it made the hammer drop. On a snap cap. Settle down. A good way to shoot somebody if you're not paying attention. Almost impossible to decock without firing as you have to hold the trigger, somehow push in the slide release and then bring the slide back, all at once without releasing the trigger.
I am no fan of release triggers but it wasn't too bad to shoot. Much nicer release than the Ljutic I shot a while ago and I managed a 24 with it but it's not not me. Swapped it out for a pull trigger and took some pictures so you can see what makes them tick.
Pull trigger at the top and the release at the bottom in cocked and fired position. Notice the little hook on the release trigger. That's where the magic happens.
When you pull the trigger the hook drops into the notch. Releasing the trigger moves the entire assembly back, releasing the hammer.
