Personally, and for myself ... I would need something a bit more substantial than "Principles governing the use of definitions" and in order to risk prison time and a criminal record .... but that is just me ....
And who knows ... maybe a judge would buy into your good faith ... and would give you an Unconditional Discharge ... and based on your argument ... you never know ....
