Remington 870 tactical express

Dude - I AM a youngster. What military do you know of is using the RemChoke breaching tool?

The US Army is currently using breaching chokes in Iraq. The choke allows soldiers to place the barrel directly against the door handle/lock without risk of it slipping off target or of the barrel exploding. Great for preventing unnecessary injuries from errant shrapnel or buckshot. And apparently, it also makes a great prod for non-compliant people that you don't want to shoot. This was all explained to me by a friend of mine who is an ex-Ranger with 3 tours of duty in Iraq.

Active war/LE applications are really the only places where this choke makes any sense, civilians really don't have any use for it... but on the other hand, I'm pretty sure one of these would scare the s**t out of a burgler... :D

Believe it or not, some of us youngsters appreciate the asthetics of military fire arms! Thank you for the info! Feel like a goof for not taking it out and checking.

I'll crawl back to the other forums now, and leave you guys with your blood hounds and pipes and what not. :p
:D:DLMAO!!!
Hey, don't feel bad, I made the same mistake a while back and posted a couple of 28 gauge SXS shotguns in the other forum!
Was told to go elsewhere something about
" no grey Poupon here"!!
You have a cylinder choke on that can opener, they biggest thing I would worry about is ripping the crap out of your soft carrying case with it!
We really are a good natured bunch in both forums!

Hey dont be mean to the bad ass looking breaching tool :)

Anyone use the King Armory style ones around here?

As well correct my un-expereincedness in the area of breaching tools but dont they severley limit the tactical shotguns usefulness because you can't use slugs?

Yes, breaching tools do severely limit shotguns. However, when a shotgun has something like a breaching choke attached, it is generally going to only be used for breaching. They will typically have a shorter barrel, a pistol grip, and small tube capacity. Not the best for any 'tactical' applications, but good for knocking holes in doors and locks.

How does something that useless and looks so goofy become "cool"?
Are you kidding? Breach chokes are THE latest and greatest accessory for sporting clays. Spin one of those babies in, give your hardest mall ninja stare and the rest of the squad will be laughing so hard they'll lose concentration. ;)

And after your round if you've locked your keys inside your car there's no need to call CAA. Just blow your doors off and drive home.

Even Briley is making them.

you know, ive used mine every time that ive shot clays and never had a problem. also, no one has ever laughed at me... i doubt claybuster and his fudd friends would have the courage either (maybe if my back was turned, but what kind of man does that?)

the remington 870 tac desert recon was my cheapest option to purchase an 18" barrel with a choke tube out of the box. i didnt really care about the tactical choke tube one bit and planned on switching out out if there was a problem with patterning. i found no problem, so i never switched it out.

personally, i spend my time at the range shooting, not snickering at other people's purchases. high school is over.

You'd guess wrong. Show up with a breaching toy and we'd laugh right in your face. Keyboard Kommandos don't impress us.

So much for splitting the forums and getting rid of the tactical tough guy posing.
