Quick search made this seem like a common problem. Also reminded me to MAIL my damn warranty in. I was lucky enough to find it on the ground, so im not missing my front sight.

It is very loose though and im wondering if anyone has delt with this before or not. Id rather not wait for a new barrel to be sent to me from rem... (seems to be how they deal with it)

Any good aftermarket products or has anyone used loktite or given a slight (very permanent lol) weld to keep it on there ?

Update: They have emailed me back, I have given them my serial number and mailing info. They are sending a replacement sight, hopefully it seats much tighter if not I will try loktite or a similar agent.

What kind of front sight is it? If it's a typical dovetail, try peening the edge of the dovetail to effectively increase the width of its engagement surface. If you've never done it before, use a hammer and punch and rest the sight on a solid surface.

Loctite is less optimal, as it is best left undisturbed while it dries: Difficult to adjust windage, then.

I don't touch my shotguns windage so not a big issue for me.

Im not the most versed gun smith, I have a basic bench and tool kit... Found this article but am still having troubles understanding what to do to what. http://modernserviceweapons.com/?p=5193

Do I hit the sight piece or do I hit the larger part of the sight on the barrel ?

Typical rem quality. My buddy had a "legendary" 870 and had the darn thing missing after his first range trip.

yea, didn't notice the sight sliding out while smashing clays... Wondering why me and my buddie couldn't hit #### lol... Then I went to give another shot and noticed my front sight is MIA lol... At least they are quick on the replacement part and there seems to be a relative easy way to fix the issue. I have no problems with any ammo in mine tho ill give it that, runs smooth other then the missing front sight.

Put a drop of some adhesive on it, its supposed to come out, just not that easily. If it continues, generic sights are cheap and readily available, I wouldnt worry about sending it in for warranty work.

I'll have to watch for this with my new Express tactical.
A dab of jb weld will surely solve the problem.

Is there a place to efectively do this? On my 20" rifled slug barrel there is a counter sunk spot as if the base was originally intended to be screwed on to the barrel.

In peening the dovetail, you're trying to slightly widen the dovetail itself, where the sight contacts the corresponding cut on the barrel.

Those countersunk spots are likely for sight options that use a setscrew to help hold the sight in place: Not applicable to sights without a setscrew.
