Remington 870 vs Winchester 1300

Well, i have/had both.
The 1300 has a smoother action and its full length magazine(defender) is a better configuration (to me). The aluminum action is prone to scratching and gets battle damage fast in hard use.
The 870 with its steel reciever is much more durable. I don't like the magazine's ring location, for you need an extention to give you more shots(not an issue if you're hunting).

They're both good shotguns. I've never had any issues with either. However, the 870 is like the 10/22 of shotguns and aftermarket gadgets are everywhere.
I've kept the 870 police magnum...i sold the defender after my last drive by shooting, but, only because i needed the money for crack.:D

Own two 870 expresses, one 1300 defender (stainless marine), and had a 1300 with nice wood, 26" barrel. The 1300 is faster and smoother for sure. However I've had reliability issues with my 1300 defender. Broken parts, lots of jams with cheaper shells. Sold the long barreled one, as I didnt use it. Never had any issues with my 870 expresses. The 870 is my chosen workhorse for sure. The 1300 is my chosen fun gun. I wouldnt mind having a wooden stocked defender.

Very interesting, in the end you chose 1300 stainless as your user name and not 870 workhorse? :p
