I picked up a brand new 887 from WSS this week. I disassembled the gun, cleaned, lubed and assembled.

Tonight at the clay shoot about 1 in 5 shots the gun would jam. After firing a round the slide would lock up and would not cycle.

Anyone else have the same issue with there 887? I tried all kinds of ammo and had the same issue.

i have one But mines been awesome, it was a bit stiff at first but after a 100 rnds and a couple cleanings it got buttery smooth. I bought a 870 express and sold to my cousin when he fianlly got his pal, it was really stiff to cycle the next round, but after a 100 or so rnds it softened up nicely.

When friends shoot it, because its kind of a big mans gun, they end up a "short racking"(not sure if thats the correct term) it sometimes double feeds. remember its a 3 1/2 in chamber so you have to pump you mean it.

When i shoot heavy loads ie 3 1/2" 00 buck, the recoil will cause me to half rack it

Maybe you have an issue with the bolt lock sticking, pop off the trigger group and have a look. If not take it back and tell them to give a new one. wss can suck it up.

They are very nice guns when they work like they should, soft and light and durable.

A side note, was out busting clays on BC day with a buddy, his supernova was doing the same thing

I don't have any first hand experience with the nitro 887 but i have heard from a few people that they have same cycling issues as you. It can be caused by not racking it hard enough. But I am also starting to have do about the quality of the new remington shotguns. Remington has been producing good shotguns for years but i don't think that what they are putting out now is the same as what they used to. For that reason, i am not gonna be buying a remington anytime soon.

Hope you fix your issue soon.

I had one about 3 years ago, jammed alot like yours. sometimes it wouldnt pump out empty shells and you'd have to beat the stock into the ground to get it to release.
Sent back to remington, they replaced the trigger assembly. worked fine for a bit, then acted up again. sent back. They gave me credit where I bought it from.
Id suggest exchanging it for an 870 if you can.

I sold it to a buddy who was out shooting the night i brought it out. He figured he could get it dialed in so i sold it to him. Now on the market for a respectable o/u
