Remington 887

I hunt with a guy that bought one last August and used it for most of the waterfowl season. It served him well, until one time out, it just started not ejecting shells. The empty hull would get stuck in the chamber so tight, that it would'nt pull out. Had to use a rod down the barrel to push it out. After inspection, the chamber had become oval. He had a gunsmith polish the chamber back to round, and traded it on a Browning BPS. (I shoot a BPS, best pump I've ever owned hands down)

I'm not saying all the 887's will do this, but I just thougt I'd tell you about his expereince with it.

Another thing to keep in mind, is that this is the cheapest shotgun that Remington sells, so............ you get whatcha pay for in most cases.

If you're stuck on the Remington, I would go for an 870 myself. If you've got a few extra to spend, get a BPS you won't regret that. Just my 2 cents though. Everybody's budget is different, and I guess it depends on how much shooting you plan on doing too.

Gixer.

Oh yeah, I forgot to say, my first shotty was an 870, it never let me down, always worked well, but I used another fella's BPS, and I was sold. I traded the 870 on the BPS. You can't really go wrong with an 870 though.

But it's no BPS. =)

I have a newer 870 express supermag, and its nothing special. I am having problems with it right now. They are built just as cheaply as a 887, so its really not a much better gun. Then again, I am really hard on my guns, so it could be just me.

Honestly though, I wish I spent the extra $$ and bought a benelli, or a Browning. But you get what you pay for.

i went and bougth one about 3 weeks back at lebarons, havent had no problems with mine as of yet but then again i have only put about 100 rounds threw it ranging from #6 shot to slugs
