Remington ACR

man, if its 3 grand in the USA, it will easily hit 4 up here.... Not to mention, we probably wont get the folding stock or any other fun stuff....

IMHO for that much money, go with a SIG or an XCR, and you're getting just as good, if not a better gun, for less money.

You could probably get an HK MR223 for less than the ACR.

Although the lack of demand in the USA (due to price) may have an advantage up here since they are more likely to export a gun if they dont sell well. (as opposed to the Kel Tec RFB, which is rare in the USA as it is.)

You'd be best to wait a little while. Shrubmaster totally effed up with the ACR. It'll be back and better in a year or so...

The ACR is set to debut as an ambidextrous rifle. Neither the XCR nor the MR223 can do that.

I'll take an ACR over all three of them put together MR223,SIG,XCR.
Why? becuse its brand new and looks better as for getting one up here.Well you best be coming back in a year or two and ask again but more importantly we need to get them scar up here or did that happen already.

Funny, my issue C7A2 had an ambidextrous charging handle, mag release, and fire selector. Throw a BAD lever or similar device and I'm set. For what an ACR will cost you can get a quality AR with accessories and optics, magazines, and likely some ammo. Or an XCR, Sig, or whatever you want really.

I was excited about the ACR, until I saw the final product and it's price tag. The dream is dead for me, though hopefully in a few years time it'll come down in price.

If they do come in, and some of you are willing to put down the cash for it, by all means go for it, what gun you buy ultimately comes down to personal preference. But there are other, cheaper, proven options that will mostly do the same thing.

I had a hard on for the Magpul Masada too. But now that Shrubmaster has control over it and basically ruined the rifle in terms of cost and appeal I am now putting my stock in the Beretta ARX 160. I hope beretta can deliver a good product for a fraction of the price of the ACR.

These were my thoughts as well. The Beretta ARX 160 immediately gained my attention.

Anything over $2000 is outrageous for a cheaply made aluminum extrusion with plastic elements. You can now get the SCAR for $2200-2400 which is from a company that has experience making service rifles and has been tested extensively.

The vz. 58 with it's intricate, milled receiver, efficient gas system and ambi-mag release blows the ACR away, and it's only $700.

I'll be keeping on eye on the ARX 160 but the ACR is dead to me.

Except that the Vz58 is last made 30 years ago and there are so much of them the Czech republic just want to get rid of them

The non restricted version of vz58 (CZ858) is NOT mil surplus. It is NOT made 30years ago. Btw Bushmaster ####ed up on the ACR. 3k usd for a rifle that doesn't even have chrome barrel.
