Hi,
I'm debating on a .308 from Rem 700 sps tactical and Savage 10 FP series. Savage has a very good reputation for accuracy, i.e. accutrigger, accustock, floating boat head, floating barrel, button rifling, etc. Are these gimmicks or actually help their accuracy.
Compared to the R700, how is Savage's quality of its components? Like the metal used in the bolt, barrel, safety, bolt release, magazines etc?
How accurate are the R700s and the SPS series?
From what I read, the Rem will have a smooth bolt, stiffer stock, quality built feel to it, but not necessarily be more accurate out of the box.
Savages cost less than Remingtons on average, but their 10FP series are similar to that of the SPS Rems. I have a feeling that the Savages may be better value and more accurate.
What are your thoughts?
