Remington Automaster 878

Blue Dot is for HEAVY loads of birdshot and buckshot. It burns long and slow. A steady diet of it would not be good for any 60 year old plus shotgun. All you have to do is change your powder. Lot's of "modern" powders out there to look at. Your 878 will thank you for some Red Dot or similar field load power loaded shells. I am glad Bunns came through for you. He is the last of the folks who know and love the model 58 and 878 shotguns.

Thank you everyone for the imput.

Great thanks to I managed to get him to ship a piston assembly. After hounding him I managed to “buy some other items” that would ship to our motherland.. can’t be happier that I sources the part.

I do my own relaods, what is going to cause/prevent this from happening again

I have read some comments online (not CGN) that say the 878 will die from heavy loads...

That’s all I shoot. # 2 -4 ... 00 buck or slugs. Moastly loaded with blue dot

IF me I would not be sharing his e-bay handle here since he can lose his ability to sell there if they find out he shipped a firearm part out of the US through e-bay and with over 5000 feedback he is a very active seller there
In fact I am quite shocked he did. Hope customs doesn't flag it when it gets there
Cheers
