I was fondling and drooling over a buddies newly acquired 700 classic in .220 swift and noticed how perfectly the stock fit me. Far better than my bdl stocks fit me. Doing some some research, it appears that the main difference is the drop at the comb. The classic is approximately 5/16" higher at the comb. Does anyone know of a source for purchasing these stocks new? Do any of the common stock makers make a classic copy stock? Thanks, rob.

I also prefer the Remington "Classic" stock over all others. I own a number of 700 Classics in various chamberings, and they always feel "just right" in my hands.

Regards, Dave
