remington bolt mods

With the flutes right through the bolt body, wouldn't you be venting chamber gases right at your face if you ever pierced a primer, or had a primer blowout? Also, eposing the firing pin and spring to the elements just doesn't seem like a good idea. Rick's flutes add a nice custom touch, but keep everything enclosed.

I remember this Bingo character from some other posts.:runaway:

Very nice Rick. Like fluted barrels you don’t gain much but it looks real cool. Like putting lipstick on a pitbull, what’s the point? Rod

hey...I just noticed this Rod....when you glued the handle on for me you said it were purty an all....:dancingbanana: ..now you're dissing my bolt...well...you....you.....well what the he11:runaway: ..at least the handle is still on......

HAW, I FOOLED YOU RICK !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! When I glued the handle back on your 700 I used air soluble silver solder. The solder will dissolve and the handle will fall off mid next hunting season ;o) Rod

not that the Ti is too heavy, it is just that i think there is room for improvement, after all there are 4 1/2 lb rifles out there.
The Ti's reciever is nearly 1/2 Pound lighter then the steel one.
Tough to take that much weight off an action.
My Ti is 5-1/4 lbs unscoped.
I wouldn't want to shoot a rifle any lighter then that...this one jumps about enough;)
