700 Classics are only made to order. Once the announcement is made, Remington distributors are given until March or April to place their orders. Only then will Remington produce rifles to fill all the orders in hand. When they're through that's it.

as an aside, the cdl is listed as a classic deluxe, so yes there may be more "classic" rifles out there but the ones listed above are the yearly classics.

to add to Westicles post,..the Classic was made from '78 to '81 in about 6 cartridges as a regular production item, 22-250, 6mm, 270Win, 30-06 and 7 Rem Mag and I think also 243...before they turned it into the "one cartridge a year" limited edition thing.......

100yds. 5 rounds of Barnes 130gr. XBT, Varget powder 41grs. winchester brass, CCI 200 primers, and as you can see it's coming together, found a couple tight spots between wood and barrel, so did some free floating. adjusted the trigger up a bit and give her another try. I think I'm going to like it! Yes I pulled one!

Yes, you should have bought one. I did and I cannot say how pleased I am that I did. It is a MOA shooter with several loads [under with a couple, including the 200 Accubond] and is just a great rifle in the hands. I have a Leupold 6x42 on it and shot a moose with it last fall. Kills like anything you could wish for. Love my Classics, and especially my 8x57!! Eagleye.
