Remington Core Lokt - JUNK!

My Model 70 .270 gets 100 yard 1 1/8" groups with Core-Lokts and my Model 760 .308 groups 1.5".

On the 13 deer I've shot with Core-Lokts I've never had a Core-lokt "blow up" or other wise cause an unacceptable amount of damage. I have however had some lung pass-thrus where there was absolutely no bullet expansion. Dead deer nonetheless.

Last month I shot a buck through the lungs at 150 yards. Entry hole was .30 cal and the exit hole was the size of a looney. 2 days later I shot another buck in the base of the neck at 25 yards. No pass-through and the area of damaged meat was about the size of a grape-fruit.

Sounds good to me.

There's nothing wrong with core lokt ammo. Just because your rifle don't shoot them well dosn't mean there junk. Some rifles shoot many different loads well and some don't.

My 308 throws 180g corelokt's all over the map, 150g corelokts are damn accurate. My 30.06 loves the 180's in the same model gun as my 308. Guns are finiky just like women. Find something they like and stick with it.

When I tested ammo for my 2506 it didn't like the 120 corlokts either. 1.5" groups at 50 yards. Prvi was .5" groups and winchester super x grey box was one hole both in 120 and 90gr versions. Guns sometimes just don't like a certain brand. My gun also likes hornady sst superformance altho the grey box stuff shoots the best and that is what I hunted with in case of a longer shot happened by
