Remington Core-Lokt or Federal Power-Shock?

Both of these ammo lines appear to be in the same league. Which, if any, is better? In my case I'm talking about .270 and .308 for use on deer.

The one that shoots the best in your rifle. FWIW, I shot two deer last fall with the Federal blue box ammo in 6.5x55 w/140gr. bullets and it worked fine.

Thanks! I've shot deer with green box Remingtons and the blue box Federals and I have to admit that they all appeared equally dead

The only reason I ask is because I saw a thread on another forum which described the Remington Core-Lokts as dirtier, smellier and generally inferior in quality to the Federal Power-Shoks. Any truth to this?

The blue box federal is just fine for deer. I think I'd pick whichever one is cheaper and shoots well in my gun.

Pick whichever shoots better in your gun......deer wont know the difference. Or most things for that matter.

Most fo the guys at my camp use the cheap stuff from the three big Manufacturers (CoreLokts, Powerpoints, blue box) and drop deer and moose with no issues out of "piddly" little guns like .308 and 3006

I love remington core locks. They have been very accurate out of many of my guns. I handload them.

i use the core-lokts on deer and moose, never a problem with animals dropping dead in my 30-06
