Remington Custom Shop

Thanks again. I recently had two offered to me, one new and one near new, in different calibers and although neither was "cheap", both were priced far below the factory price. I only wanted one, so it was really just a matter of choosing the calibre.

Cool. If you pulled the trigger pics please down the road :)

Very cool. Now the big question, what mounts and scope?

I almost always use the same type of rings and the same type of scope, and I have a good supply of both.

I use low all-steel Talley rings (not always, but most often Q-D) and steel Talley bases to mount used older model Austrian/German scopes...usually relatively low power Swarovski, but also Zeiss and Schmidt and Bender, etc. I prefer the German #4 reticle. I also like the steel Talley peep sight that fits on the same bases. This system works well for my purposes, so I see no reason to change. My used scopes tend to look more worn than the rifles, but I make sure the glass is excellent.

Talley rings can be expensive, but not always. The last pair I bought were Q-D 30mm in excellent condition and cost $25. at a local gunshow!
