Remington/Eddystone P14 value?

Have the chance to buy a sporterized P14 with RE stamped on it in an oval. Volleys sights are there. What do I meed to look for? I have offered $200 and seller would accept it, is that too much?

Price seems fair depending on what you want. Do you want a spotter or a resto? If the bolt, receiver and rear sight serial numbers match and has a good bore with uncut barrel and no drill and tap$200 would be responsible to me for a resto rifle.

In good serviceable condition it's a working hunting rifle that is well worth $200. If it has potential to be restored (i.e. just the wood has been modified,) it is certainly worth that much, though whether it will be economical to restore depends somewhat on your luck in finding the necessary parts, how much they cost you, and whether you want to own it restored or sell it for profit.

I sold one recently for $200, given the interest I had I figure I could have gotten more for it.
