Hey all,
I bought my wife a Mod. 7 Stainless/synthetic last summer. Right off the hop it did not like to feed smoothly, being the optimist i am, i figured it just needed a working in. Well, a couple hundred rounds later, as well as some long evenings cycling dummy rounds in front of the TV, and the first and last rounds out of the mag (weather i load 3,4 or 5) need some effort to be pushed from mag to chamber. Sometimes it is a little harder push, other times it requires a full on POP with the butt of my hand. Not good, considering this is my wife's gun, and at times, she can't get it to chamber. Closing the bolt also provides a bit more resistance than i would like (not a OAL issue, as the problem exists even on an empty chamber)
Was hoping the 'smiths around here would be able to tell me what is required to smooth this one out (i like the feel of a tikka bolt, is that asking too much for a remington). Is there a DIY fix, or should i go see a smith?
