Remington M700 Alpha 1

They are doing away with the 1 thing that made them great rifles, changing the extraction design and doing away with the 3 solid rings of steel.

I'm seeing lots to like there. Faster twist, longer mag box, good trigger. Looking forward to trying one of these out, particularly with the heavier bullets now available. Wonder if they will chamber one in 7 STW? - dan

Never see it EVER IN 7STW - long gone except for custom builds I do believe. Jmo. RJ

I agree there TOO Heavy ! pretty DISAPPOINTED in that ! WTF are they thinking ? RJ

Tried watching Rems lil promo video to see what the barrel profile looked like. Didn’t get to see a very decent look at it, guessing from what I did see, possibly a #3 profile?

I did enjoy seeing the President of RemArms using a rifle equipped with a suppressor.
Some of the new improved features would seem to be marketing gimmicks. OK if these help sales. Some of the action enhancements might be real improvements.
Look to be premium open country hunting rifles. Any intended for precision competition?
Actions? Barreled actions?

Probably. Have to have enough meat to be fluted.

In the very least a #3 if not a #4, depending on Cal.

At what it may cost once it arrives up here, there are alot of other options avail if one were concerned about it’s initial or over-all weight. If the action alone becomes avail, maybe those that want the new/improved features can build off that and get their desired weight.
